Coventry led by Frank Lampard clinch Championship crown, Wrexham surge back into playoff positions

Promotion already secured, Coventry under Frank Lampard demolished Portsmouth 5-1 to extend their unbeatable lead to 10 points at the summit with two matches left.

Millwall rose to second spot after a 3-1 triumph over Stoke and now hold a three-point advantage over Ipswich, who possess two fixtures in hand and take on Charlton on Wednesday.

Wrexham also had a strong evening, reclaiming a place in the promotion playoff spots by edging ahead of Hull on goal difference following a 1-0 victory at relegation-battling Oxford, courtesy of Josh Windass's strike.

Leicester tumble to third division

Having been demoted to the Championship last term, Leicester endured a crushing second drop in a row after a 2-2 draw versus promotion-pushing Hull at a King Power Stadium dotted with empty seats.

Leicester required a win against the Tigers to postpone relegation by another day yet trailed early, conceding in the 18th minute as Liam Miller capitalised on a blunder by shot-stopper Asmir Begovic.

The supporters briefly harboured hopes of an unlikely escape in the second period, with Jordan James converting a penalty in the 52nd to level and Luke Thomas netting two minutes on to give them the edge. That elation proved fleeting, however, as Oli McBurnie restored parity in the 63rd.
