À propos de Angleterre - Non League Division One

Histoire, format, organisation, couverture médiatique

La Non-League Division One désigne l'ensemble des huit ligues régionales de l'Échelon 4 du Système National de Ligue : la Division One West, East et Midlands de la Northern Premier League; la Division One Central et South de la Southern Football League; et les Divisions North, South Central et South East de l'Isthmian League.

Les divisions de quatrième niveau de la Northern Premier League couvrent le nord de l'Angleterre, le centre et le nord des Midlands, et l'ouest de l'East Anglia. Les championnats de l'Échelon 4 de la Southern Football League s'étendent sur l'East Anglia, le sud et les Midlands de l'Angleterre, ainsi que le sud du Pays de Galles. L'Isthmian League englobe quant à elle le Grand Londres et l'est et sud-est de l'Angleterre.

Chaque division suit un format de double round-robin, où chaque équipe affronte toutes les autres à domicile et à l'extérieur pendant la saison régulière. L'équipe accumulant le plus grand nombre de points à la fin est couronnée championne. De plus, le vainqueur obtient une promotion automatique à l'Échelon 3 du Système National de Ligue : la Premier Division de la Northern Premier League, la Premier Division Central ou la Premier Division South de la Southern Football League, ou la Premier Division de l'Isthmian League. La division que rejoint le club promu dépend de sa région.

Les équipes terminant de la deuxième à la cinquième place participent aux barrages pour décrocher l'autre place de promotion. Par ailleurs, les moins performantes de chaque ligue régionale sont reléguées dans l'une des 16 divisions de l'Échelon 5 du Système National de Ligue.
