FC Copenhagen comfortably defeat relegated Vejle to maintain push for European playoff position

Mohamed Elyounoussi and teenage forward Viktor Dadason, who is 17 years old, found the net before and after the interval, with Jordan Larsson capping things off by slotting home a penalty in the closing stages.

The triumph strengthens FC Copenhagens hold on seventh spot, which qualifies them for a European playoff. They now enjoy a four-point advantage over OB heading into the final three fixtures of the Danish Superliga.

Vejle made a confident start and were convinced they had gone ahead in the 19th minute as Wahid Faghir nodded the ball home from a difficult angle, only for the effort to be chalked off for offside.

Not long afterwards, Elyounoussi passed up an excellent opportunity while Andreas Cornelius saw his attempt rebound off the woodwork. Still, the hosts sparked joy among the fans in the 31st minute when Elias Achouri whipped a precise ball into the penalty area, allowing Elyounoussi to fire past Vejles custodian Tobias Jakobsen.

Though already consigned to relegation, Vejle held firm for much of the contest, but the outcome was settled after 73 minutes as Jordan Larsson shook off a marker to tee up the advancing Viktor Dadason for his second of the game.

FC Copenhagen put the seal on victory six minutes from time, with Larsson dispatching a spot-kick after Max Jensen handled the ball inside the area.
