Bromma Boys move ahead of Djurgarden in Allsvenskan after Stockholm win
Djurgarden 1-2 Brommapojkarna
Djurgarden were looking to rebound after becoming the latest victims of league leaders Sirius in their previous outing. Given Brommapojkarna's recent habit of losing following a win, the signs pointed to a home success, as BP had beaten Kalmar last time out.
However, the visitors' form guide was disregarded midway through the first half, when Mads Hansen played the ball forward to Oliver Berg, then continued his run, received a square pass on the edge of the box, and curled a fine finish past the goalkeeper and into the net.
The Blaranderna responded quickly to going behind, and they were back on level terms four minutes later after Mikael Anderson headed a cross into the air, but Adam Stahl nodded it back down to him. Anderson made no mistake on the second attempt, half-volleying the ball home.
The score remained 1-1 until just after the hour mark, when a BP corner was cleared only as far as Simon Strand on the edge of the area. His first-time strike took a heavy deflection before bobbling through and into the bottom corner.
Kristian Lien missed Djurgarden's best chance of the second half before he was one of five players substituted off as Jani Honkavaara tried to change the game. However, the Bromma Boys held out to record consecutive victories for the first time this season.
The victory lifts BP to sixth place, one position and one point above Djurgarden, who would have moved to third had they won.
