Betway Premiership Manager Secures New Contract Renewal to Remain at Club

Hunt assumed leadership of the team in December last year following the departure of longtime strategist Steve Barker, who moved to Simba SC in Tanzania. He guided the squad through the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

The 61 year old, with over 1000 top tier matches under his belt in South African football, has committed to steering the team forward after signing a new agreement.

"I’m thrilled about the project we’re developing at Stellenbosch FC," Hunt stated. "This is an outstanding club with excellent facilities and a highly professional setup.

"The staff, who were already here when I joined, have been incredibly welcoming and supportive. We share a renewed and optimistic vision for what lies ahead.

"While we must acknowledge the club’s past successes under previous management, our goal is to restore competitiveness and return to those heights.

"It won’t be straightforward, nor will it occur immediately, but we have an opportunity to rebuild. I’m honoured to be given this responsibility."
