PSV star Mauro Junior 'targeted' by Porto and Leeds amid contract talks

Mauro Junior, aged 27, has developed into a key player for Peter Bosz's commanding PSV side, having won four league titles across nine seasons with the Eindhoven club.

The Brazilian defender and midfielder is under contract with PSV until 2029 after extending his deal last summer, but according to Voetbal International, the Eredivisie champions are keen to extend Mauro Junior's contract further, also to remove the release clause.

PSV are attempting to stave off interest from Portuguese giants FC Porto and Premier League club Leeds United, along with “a number of South European clubs”. Mauro Junior himself faces a pivotal moment in his career, as his ambition to be called up for the Brazilian national team has not come closer while playing for PSV.

Since joining from Desportivo Brasil in 2017, Mauro has made 200 appearances for PSV, scoring 9 goals and providing 23 assists in all competitions.
