Bologna and Vincenzo Italiano part company by mutual consent amid Napoli links

Italiano, formerly of Fiorentina, took over at Bologna in 2024 and, in his first season, guided the club to their first Coppa Italia triumph in 51 years. Bologna ended the Serie A campaign in eighth place and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

"Italiano has notified the club that he sees his tenure at Bologna as concluded, after two seasons that have been distinguished by outstanding achievements, irrespective of what the future holds for his career," Bologna stated.

"The club wishes to express its gratitude to Vincenzo for the enthusiasm and commitment he has shown in his role over the last few years, which will be remembered as part of the club's history."

Napoli, who placed second in Serie A, announced the exit of their manager Antonio Conte earlier this week.

Local media outlets have also connected former AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri with a switch to Napoli, in addition to Italiano.
