Premier League clubs ready to pounce for Jarrod Bowen if West Ham are relegated
With growing interest from several top clubs, Bowen does remain committed to West Ham and would be prepared to stay if they avoid the drop on Sunday.
However, relegation to the Championship would dramatically change the situation.
West Ham players have a 50 percent wage reduction clause in their contracts should the club go down, and while Bowen has not entertained the prospect of leaving yet, the club’s financial situation would make it increasingly difficult to resist serious offers.
West Ham sources insist they would not allow one of their prized assets to leave cheaply simply because of relegation.
Club insiders believe Bowen’s value would remain high even if West Ham are relegated, given his consistent Premier League performances and importance to the team over recent seasons.
Bowen missed out on a place in Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad but has continued to attract admiration for both his leadership qualities and attacking output, making him one of the most desirable domestic players who would potentially be available this summer.
He is under contract until 2030 and is expected to attract significant Premier League interest if West Ham fail to preserve their top-flight status.
It is understood Bowen would ideally prefer to remain in London if he were to leave the Hammers, although no options have been ruled out at this stage.
Interestingly, Tottenham — the very club who could survive at West Ham’s expense this weekend — are among the sides monitoring his situation.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United are also known to hold an interest in the 29-year-old.
West Ham must beat Leeds United at the London Stadium and hope Tottenham lose to Everton in order to secure their Premier League survival.
