Guardiola's future with the team has sparked much talk during this season due to ongoing rumours about the Spanish coach departing one year early before his deal ends.
It seems he will indeed depart with the BBC the Daily Mail the Athletic and other sources indicating that the team's game against Aston Villa this weekend is likely his last in charge.
The BBC reports that team staff and players expect him to go ending a decade long period of great achievements for the club.
As speculated all season Enzo Maresca is viewed as the leading candidate to take over from Guardiola.
Maresca served as assistant to the 55 year old between 2022 and 2023 and later found success at Leicester and Chelsea securing the Championship the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
He departed Chelsea after clashing with club executives yet his standing has improved due to their difficulties afterwards.
