Madonna Shakira and BTS Set to Star in Historic Halftime Performance at FIFA World Cup Final

Chris Martin from Coldplay is organising the performance which marks the debut of such an event at a football World Cup final though it has sparked worries regarding the duration of the break.

The largest World Cup ever featuring 48 teams begins on 11 June in the United States Canada and Mexico.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino revealed in March of the previous year that there would be the inaugural halftime show during a FIFA World Cup final.

At that point he did not disclose the performers or the length of the show.

This promises to be a landmark occasion for the FIFA World Cup and a spectacle worthy of the premier global sporting event he stated on Instagram.

This initiative resembles the performance by Colombian artist Shakira during the halftime of the 2024 Copa America final held in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Additionally there was a halftime entertainment at the previous years FIFA Club World Cup final also at MetLife Stadium which extended the interval beyond the standard 15 minutes.

Infantino further mentioned that FIFA intends to dominate New Yorks Times Square during the concluding weekend of the World Cup.

The elaborate halftime event will back FIFAs Global Citizen Education Fund a programme aiming to collect 100 million dollars for children around the globe amid the World Cup.

Shakira recently previewed the fresh official anthem for the World Cup by sharing a short video of the piece recorded at Brazils famous Maracana Stadium.

The artist who previously crafted the 2010 World Cup tune Waka Waka shared the song named Dai Dai via a post on her Instagram.

In the 67 second clip Shakira is seen on the field at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro the venue where she once gave a complimentary concert at the citys Copacabana Beach for two million attendees.

Gripping the Trionda the designated match ball for the 2026 World Cup Shakira sang parts of the track in English accompanied by performers clad in the hues of various national teams such as the United States and Colombia.

The track co produced with Nigerian musician Burna Boy is scheduled for full release on Thursday. The video distributed also by the FIFA World Cup profile concludes with the words Were ready.

Shakira boasts a longstanding connection to the World Cup having appeared at the 2006 and 2014 finals alongside her creation of Waka Waka for the 2010 edition.
