Lille separate from manager Bruno Genesio following two year tenure

This development occurred even though the 59 year old guided Lille to a third place league finish, securing Champions League qualification for next season.

"Joining in June 2024, Bruno Genesio led the team with skill, dedication, and notable results throughout two seasons marked by impressive collective accomplishments," Lille stated.

The club noted these achievements included "two participations in European tournaments, unforgettable wins in the UEFA Champions League, and clinching third position in Ligue 1 on May 17th at the end of the 2025–26 campaign".

Lille continued: "Bruno will always be remembered as an influential figure who made a meaningful contribution to the club's legacy and commands considerable respect.
