Lazio bid farewell to Maurizio Sarri once more
The 67-year-old veteran has concluded his second spell with the capital club after a single season, which ended with a Coppa Italia final loss to Inter Milan and a ninth-place finish in Serie A.
This short-lived comeback stood in stark contrast to Sarri's earlier three-year term from 2021 to 2024, during which he led the team to a runner-up finish in the league in 2023 before departing due to family reasons.
According to Italian media reports, Sarri is expected to take over at Atalanta in the near future, whilst former Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso is poised to take charge of Lazio.
This change comes just days after AC Milan parted ways with manager Massimiliano Allegri, which occurred the day after the Serie A season concluded.
