Everton Honour Hillsborough Remembrance with Enduring Tribute at Hill Dickinson Stadium

The tragedy saw numerous supporters, including plenty of youngsters, tragically crushed in a packed and penned-off area at the Sheffield venue during an FA Cup semi-final clash between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. It stands as one of the gravest stadium tragedies globally.

The tribute portrays two child mascots clasping hands, a girl donning an Everton jersey bearing the number nine and a lad in Liverpool's red kit with the number seven, embodying a solidarity that surpasses the longstanding Merseyside derby tensions.

"Everton welcomed representatives of the Hillsborough families, and friends from Liverpool Football Club, to Hill Dickinson Stadium today to pay respects to the 97," Everton said in a statement.

Liverpool icons Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush placed wreath offerings for the club at the reveal ceremony.

Everton will face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
