Estevao, the Brazilian winger, risks missing World Cup following thigh injury with Chelsea

Estevao departed the field after only 16 minutes, and coach Liam Rosenior mentioned that the player was crying in the changing room.

The game versus United marked Estevaos fourth outing since recovering from a previous muscle problem. From February to March, he dealt with an issue that excluded him from Brazils national team for matches against France and Croatia.

The Athletic indicated that he has a grade four injury, potentially threatening his chances at the World Cup. The team has not yet shared the scan results, conducted last Monday.

For now, Chelsea, who reached the FA Cup semi finals, must manage without him.

In the Premier League, the capital club sits seventh with 48 points, trailing the top six by two points. Estevao has netted eight goals and delivered three assists across 36 games for the Blues.

Should the injury prove true, Estevao would have scant opportunity to prepare for his debut World Cup. He ranks among the key figures in Brazils team under Ancelotti.

For his country, he boasts 11 international appearances and five goals, including four from his most recent four outings.

Ancelotti plans to reveal his definitive roster on May 18th, as Brazils first fixture is set for June 13th versus Morocco. Scotland and Haiti complete the group.
