Christian Eriksen 'doing well' after collapsing on pitch during Denmark's match with Ukraine

Denmark's friendly match against Ukraine was halted in the second half when Eriksen collapsed. Assistance was quickly provided, and players from both the Danish and Ukrainian teams gathered around him.

After approximately five minutes, it was reported that the Wolfsburg player was conscious, and later he got back on his feet and was escorted off the pitch by his wife, Sabrina, to the ambulance, while several players on the field were crying and clearly emotionally affected.

All Danish and Ukrainian players formed a circle after the referee had called off the game, and the spectators loudly applauded the players.

The Danish FA has reported on X that Christian Eriksen is conscious and doing well, given the circumstances.

"It is a truly shocking experience for everyone," said Danish national team coach Brian Riemer to TV 2 Sport after the match was abandoned.

"The most important thing was, of course, first and foremost that we received news about Christian, and it was handled brilliantly by doctor Morten Boesen, who informed us that Eriksen was doing well. That was the most important thing."

Danish captain Pierre Emile Hojbjerg also spoke about how he experienced the situation when Eriksen collapsed.

"I can only describe how I saw it with my own eyes. There was a throw-in, and I quietly walked to the side. Then I turned around, and I saw that Christian fell to the ground. We knew what that meant, and we reacted super quickly and respectfully. Yes ... I can only praise those who handled it, and Christian himself left the field."

"I cannot say much else. You get a shock, do you not? The most important thing is that Christian is well."
