Elfsborg hold Hacken and point for Mjallby means chasing pack fail to close in
Elfsborg 1 1 Hacken
Only goal difference keeps Hammarby above both Elfsborg and Hacken after the hosts fought back to level in Boras. Hacken remain unbeaten but have drawn more matches than they have won.
A fifth victory in nine games seemed likely when Hacken took the lead three minutes before half time. Amor Layouni delivered a curling cross from the right which found Silas Andersen at the far post, he headed it back across goal into the opposite corner.
Instead it became a fifth draw of the season for the Gothenburg outfit. Midway through the second half, a low Julius Magnusson cross evaded Frederik Ihler, but fell perfectly for Leo Ostman to smash home.
No late drama meant Elfsborg made it three consecutive draws, though they are now five matches without defeat. Hacken saw their two match winning streak end.
Goteborg 1 1 Mjallby
Another shared spoils in Gothenburg where IFK extended their unbeaten run to two matches but missed the chance for back to back wins. Mjallby fought back and remain two points adrift of the teams between second and fourth.
Goteborg struck first six minutes after the restart. A cleared free kick was recycled by Filip Ottosson whose deflected cross still found Sebastian Clemmensen to prod home.
The advantage lasted just seven minutes. Rockson Yeboah's clumsy foul on Axel Noren left the referee no option but to award a penalty, brilliantly converted into the top corner by Jacob Bergstrom.
Bergstrom's sixth league goal this term ensures MAIF are two games unbeaten, though winless in three. IFK remain in the relegation zone but now trail safety by only two points.
