Denmark secure perfect start at Under-17 Euros with dramatic victory against Montenegro

Denmark's Under-17 squad made an impressive beginning to their European Championship campaign in Estonia.

During their opening group fixture on Tuesday evening, the young Danish side clashed with Montenegro, taking an early advantage after just 20 minutes.

National team captain Mikkel Bro Hansen intercepted a pinpoint pass, and despite momentarily fumbling control, the Bodo Glimt forward composed himself to slot home the opening goal.

This established a 1-0 advantage for Denmark, though their lead proved short lived. Shortly before halftime, Mark Djokaj evaded his markers to equalise for Montenegro, leaving the teams level at the break.

The second period saw Denmark maintain their attacking intent, and their persistence paid off with 14 minutes remaining. Substitute Mads Jorgensen found Omran Khatar, who calmly restored Denmark's lead with a precise strike.

The result puts Denmark joint top of their group alongside Italy, who also claimed a narrow 1-0 win against France. Denmark's next challenge comes on Friday when they meet France.
