Crystal Palace Announce Pierre Sage as New Manager
The Eagles have been searching for a new leader ever since Oliver Glasner confirmed his departure from the club back in January.
Glasner was a firm favourite in South London after delivering Crystal Palace their first-ever trophies, winning the FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League.
Sage is no stranger to silverware either; the Frenchman guided Lens to their first Coupe de France last season, alongside a second-place finish in Ligue 1.
In his 40 matches in charge of the club, Sage secured 27 victories, five draws and eight defeats. He will start his role as Palace manager on 1 July, with the club preparing for their debut in the Europa League.
The 47-year-old's first managerial stint came in 2013 with amateur side Chambery, before a decade-long hiatus saw him return to coaching with Lyon in 2023.
Initially appointed as an interim boss, he became permanent manager in January 2024 but was dismissed just over a year later following a poor run of form.
"It's amazing to be here at Crystal Palace. I am excited by the history of the club and by recent seasons," Sage told Palace's official website.
"Oliver Glasner achieved some incredible things, and now I must do the same. That’s why we come here with great ambition.
"The dynamic here is really positive, and we share that mindset too. We won last year – and we want to continue in that way, in a new club, a new project, but with many winning habits.
"We want to give our best every day for the team, for the club, for the people, and especially for the fans, because when you love a club in England, it's for life.
"We want to give the fans what they want. We want to make them smile, to be proud of the team, and to be proud of the club – so we will give our best for you, and we are together."
