Iraola reportedly rejects AC Milan as Palace eye Spaniard to replace Glasner

Crystal Palace were crowned Conference League champions after a 1-0 win against Rayo Vallecano in the final on Wednesday night, which was Glasner’s last match in charge of the club.

As Glasner steps aside, the Palace board are considering all options as they seek to build on their FA Cup and European success over the past two years.

Iraola refused to sign a new contract with the Cherries and announced in April that he would leave at the end of the season, sparking rumours that he would move further south at the end of the campaign.

Iraola is Crystal Palace‘s primary target according to The Sun, whilst GIVEMESPORT reports that the Spaniard is set to join the Eagles after turning down the AC Milan job this month.

The Bournemouth manager helped his side achieve a European spot this season and their best-ever finish in the Premier League.

Chelsea were believed to be interested in bringing Iraola in before they moved to sign Xabi Alonso earlier this month, demonstrating that his qualities are sought after by top clubs who also admire his tactical approach.

Four years ago, the Cherries were in the Championship, and 17 years ago they were on the verge of going bankrupt. However, their dramatic rise has been aided by Iraola, an impressive figure the Palace board are clearly eager to bring in.
