Anthony Gordon confirms big money move from Newcastle to Barcelona

Gordon has impressed since moving to Newcastle from Everton in 2023 and recently had a productive European season, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists in the UEFA Champions League.

His Premier League performances did not reach the same level, with the 25-year-old scoring only six times in the 2025/26 season. However, his overall spell at St James' Park was a success, totalling 39 goals and 28 assists across 152 appearances.

The winger was instrumental during a significant growth period for the Saudi-backed Magpies, playing a key role in two Champions League qualifications and winning the EFL Cup, the club's first trophy in more than 50 years.

The England international is set to play at this summer's World Cup and will be relieved to have any uncertainty about his future resolved before the tournament begins.

Three Lions teammate Marcus Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, but now there is some uncertainty over whether his temporary move will become permanent.
