Which Players Have Scored for Kaizer Chiefs as Their Attack Finally Clicks

It comes as a relief to supporters who felt somewhat disappointed by the teams limited threat up front this campaign even though they often dominated games.

Guided by forward Flavio Silva alongside wide man Glody Lilepo and promising talents Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba they have started to hit the target regularly.

Silva mentioned earlier this week that although he is not a Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo if supplied properly he can find the net and that has proved accurate.

He delivered a couple of sharp close range strikes just lately something Chiefs have lacked over the past few campaigns a finisher who lingers near the edge of the box ready to pounce.

So from where have their strikes originated this term? They have netted 28 in the league across 23 fixtures plus one in the Nedbank Cup and 11 during the CAF Confederation Cup. They skipped the MTN8 and managed nothing in a goalless stalemate against Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Knockout falling to penalties in the opening stage.

Silva accounts for nine of the total 40 tallies nearly a quarter and leads the line for them. Seven arrived in the Betway Premiership with one apiece in the Nedbank Cup and Confederation Cup.

Glody Lilepo took to the continental fixture warmly netting four times there the highest haul for Chiefs adding four more in domestic league action for a personal best of eight.

Ranking third among marksmen is the central player Shabalala with every one of his five strikes in the Premiership.

Wandile Duba is rediscovering his touch with three Premiership efforts all in his most recent four outings closing out the year strongly.

Khanyisa Mayo notched against Magesi FC midweek his debut since September and second overall this term whereas the sole others with multiple strikes include Siphesihle Ndlovu Vilakazi and Aden McCarthy.

Chiefs face Polokwane City next on Saturday.
