Snoop Dogg Eagerly Awaits Debut Visit to Swansea
Minority owner of Swansea, the American rapper Snoop Dogg, hopes supporters will welcome him by waving towels during his initial trip to the Welsh football team.
The performer, who holds a stake in Swansea competing in England's Championship league, plans to watch their Tuesday home match against Preston.
He specifically requests that the audience settles into their places before the game starts, ready to spin the provided towels, a tradition familiar from US sports events.
The club's official X post stated: "@SnoopDogg invites the Jack Army to participate in a towel wave before kick off tonight."
"Supporters should arrive in their seats 20 minutes prior to the start, waving the towels as Snoop steps onto the field."
A brief clip featured the 54 year old artist demonstrating the preferred towel waving technique.
His arrival was revealed last week, with the successful musician telling Swansea's site: "It has taken quite some time, yet I am thrilled to at last head to Swansea for the first time.
"Ever since discussions began about my involvement as an owner, I have anticipated joining everyone at the Swansea.com Stadium.
"Reports of the vibrant crowd energy, particularly during evening fixtures, have reached me.
"Viewing the Wrexham encounter, which highlighted our status as Welsh football's hub, the roar from the stands was astonishing even from more than 5,000 miles distant. I am excited to experience it firsthand."
Snoop Dogg gained attention at the Winter Olympics, serving as an honorary coach for Team USA and a featured reporter for NBC in the United States.
Other prominent US figures own parts of English Championship clubs, including Wrexham backed by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, plus Tom Brady, the seven time Super Bowl champion, who invests in competitors Birmingham.
