Premier League: The Emotional Farewell at City for Guardiola, Bernardo Silva and John Stones

The result of City's final game of the season, a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, quickly became secondary.
Fans stayed long after the final whistle for a celebratory send-off, with players and staff forming a guard of honour, wearing jerseys bearing Guardiola's name.
'I'm so nervous right now. Why do you love me so much? Why are you doing this to me?', Guardiola told the crowd: 'I never imagined so much affection. It's been an incredible, tremendous honour to be your manager for 10 years. Amazing emotions.'
Despite an exciting finish, with City constantly pressuring Arsenal, and having won two cups – the FA Cup and the League Cup – Guardiola said he lacked the energy for another season.
The tributes, under a sunlit Etihad, included a massive banner proclaiming Guardiola as 'Revolutionary' and 'History Maker', Catalan flags honouring his homeland, and special scarves with the words 'Adios' and 'Gracias'.
One fan's sign read: '10 years ago you arrived, completely changed our game, now you're leaving, what a shame, nothing will ever be the same!!! Love you Pep!!!'
Guardiola, often animated on the touchline, appeared more subdued than usual, hands in the pockets of his beige trousers, gazing at the pitch, seemingly lost in thought as his decade at the club came to an end.
When the Catalan arrived in 2016, he was already seen as one of football's great innovators. What followed was even more remarkable: a transformative reign that turned City from wealthy contenders into the defining team of an era.
After Sunday's match, a video of his greatest moments played on the big screens, set to Oasis's iconic anthem, Live Forever.
'In the coming years, anywhere in the world, if you see me on the street or here at the Etihad Stadium, if you're City fans, come say hello and give me a hug, I'll need it', said Guardiola, who will have a stand at the Etihad named after him and a statue erected outside: 'Every decision I made, I believed was best for this club. I love you all so much. It's been fun.'
Guardiola's 593 games in charge transformed the club and brought 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles – with a historic four in a row – and the Champions League.
Bernardo Silva and John Stones Bid Farewell
The afternoon also featured emotional goodbyes from City captain Bernardo Silva and defender John Stones. Silva was in tears even before the match began, leading the team out with his daughter Carlota in his arms.
'I don't think I'll ever feel the same way about another team in my life', said Bernardo, who represented City for nine years, to the crowd: 'All the memories we've shared, with my brothers, with you, with the staff, this is a family. You'll always be my family.'
Silva and Stones received guard of honours from both teams in the second half of their final appearances for City. Guardiola embraced them both and wiped away tears with his shirt.
'Feeling the love everyone has shown me over these 10 years has been a dream come true', said Stones, pausing to compose himself: 'From the bottom of my heart, thank you... This will always be my home.'
