Pep Guardiola Feels Deep Pain Over Victims of Worldwide Conflicts

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has pledged to continue raising his voice on humanitarian concerns due to the profound "pain" inflicted on those affected by international disputes.

Guardiola skipped his press briefing before last weekends draw against Tottenham following a talk he gave backing Palestinian youngsters at a fundraising gathering in his hometown of Barcelona.

This was not the initial occasion for the Spaniard to address topics beyond the sport and he affirmed it will not be the final one even amid calls from certain areas for him to focus solely on football matters.

In the lead up to Cities League Cup semi final return fixture versus Newcastle on Wednesday Guardiola grew emotional while reflecting on viewing media clips of youngsters dying and wounded in war zones globally.

Disputes in Palestine Ukraine and Sudan along with latest incidents involving shootings by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE officers in the United States have all stirred Guardiolas anger and resolve to spotlight these matters.

"At no point in human history have we possessed information so directly before us viewing it more vividly than today genocide in Palestine events in Ukraine occurrences in Russia happenings worldwide in Sudan and beyond " he shared with journalists on Tuesday.

"These are challenges for us as people. Is there anyone who watches footage from various global spots and remains untouched? Nowadays we witness it. In the past we could not.

"Were it the other perspective it would pain me. Desiring damage for another nation? It pains me. To utterly eliminate thousands of blameless individuals it pains me. It is that straightforward. Nothing more.

"Whenever you hold a belief and must uphold it requiring the death of thousands upon thousands of lives? Apologies but I will rise up. I will always be present there forever."

Guardiola emphasised that his position avoids politics or partisanship focusing instead on safeguarding human existence amid civilian hardships.

The 55 year old stated: "Individuals forced to flee their homelands venture into the ocean boarding vessels hoping for salvation. Do not question right or wrong simply save them. It concerns a persons humanity.

"Safeguarding people and existence itself is our sole priority not only in these regions but across the globe.

"Given our current technological progress and innovations humanity holds greater potential than ever. We can touch the moon achieve all manner of feats.

"Yet even now we turn against one another. Why? Upon seeing those images I regret it hurts profoundly. 

"Thus in any role where I can contribute by voicing out to foster an improved community I shall endeavour and remain committed. From my vantage the path to fairness? One must speak."
