Mikel Arteta stated that Eberechi Eze's superb hat-trick during Arsenal's 4-1 thrashing of Tottenham on Sunday served as fitting recognition for the midfielder's "outstanding" efforts to develop his skills.
Eze joined an elite group as just the fourth player to net a north London derby hat-trick, marking the first such feat in this intense rivalry since Alan Sunderland achieved it back in 1978.
The 27-year-old playmaker dismantled Tottenham with precise goals in the 41st, 46th, and 76th minutes at the Emirates Stadium.

"He possesses the ability to score from either flank, low shots, or when the ball is in the air, with remarkable shot conversion. He stands out. We must tailor our play to his strengths."
Eze turned down Tottenham's advances to sign with Arsenal, and his dazzling display highlighted precisely what their neighbours failed to acquire.
"During our summer call, I recall him expressing his wish to join us and contribute to the squad. That enthusiasm was palpable. I hope he savours this occasion," Arteta added.
