Nottingham Forest poised to appoint exWolves manager Vitor Pereira say reports

Reports emerging on Friday suggest that Nottingham Forest intend to name Vitor Pereira as their fourth head coach this season.

The Premier League side currently battling relegation has turned to Pereira after dismissing Sean Dyche in the aftermath of Wednesdays goalless encounter with league bottom dwellers Wolves.

Negotiations have advanced quickly and sources indicate a contract has been finalised with an official announcement expected shortly.

Pereira has been without a job since his dismissal from Wolves in November due to a poor beginning to the campaign.

The Portuguese tactician had guided Wolves away from the drop zone in the 2024 25 season succeeding Gary ONeil yet failed to maintain that momentum this year.

He previously collaborated with Forests unpredictable owner Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Greek outfit Olympiakos.

Pereiras debut match in charge of Forest will come in next weeks Europa League play off first leg away to Fenerbahce.

However his primary objective remains securing Forests position in the Premier League.

The team holds a three point buffer from the drop zone with 12 fixtures remaining.

Forest peppered Wolves goal with 35 attempts during the match but failed to score leading to Dyches removal mere hours after the conclusion at the City Ground.

The 54 year old oversaw proceedings for only 114 days becoming the third coach removed by Marinakis this term following Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou.
