Manchester City secure WSL title following Arsenal draw at Brighton

Manchester City lead the league table with 52 points from 21 of their 22 fixtures. Arsenal required victories in all four of their leftover matches to challenge for first place, yet Brighton managed a draw against them, directing the championship to the north west rather than North London.

After progressing to the Champions League semi finals only to be eliminated by OL Lyon last weekend, Arsenal approached their midweek encounter with Brighton facing a daunting challenge to pressure City, though they fell behind courtesy of Fuka Tsunodas strike right before half time.

The Norwegian playmaker Frida Maanum levelled the scores on the 60 minute mark, however despite mounting pressure in the closing stages Arsenal failed to secure a decisive goal.
