Flick Praises Raphinha's Remarkable Attitude in Barcelona's Super Cup Victory

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick praised the determination of Raphinha following the Brazilian's double strike that secured a victory against Real Madrid and allowed his side to defend the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.

The winger from Brazil has netted seven times over his most recent five outings, with a pair of goals in the 3-2 triumph against Los Blancos held in Saudi Arabia.

Raphinha spent approximately two months sidelined by injury while Barcelona struggled with their performance during October and November, yet he has returned in impressive fashion.

"His attitude is extraordinary, and his energy influences the entire squad," Flick remarked to the media.

Although Raphinha squandered a promising opportunity in the opening period, he quickly responded by putting Barcelona ahead in Jeddah. Later, when the game was level at 2-2, the 29-year-old delivered the decisive blow from beyond the penalty area, aided by a lucky ricochet.

"He passed up the initial opportunity, but he was ready for the next one and converted it into our opening goal, which boosted the team's belief," Flick elaborated.

"This represents exactly what Raphinha contributes during matches, a high level of drive that we require."

Barcelona lifted the Spanish Super Cup over Real Madrid in the previous campaign, paving the way for their sweep of domestic honours.

Flick expressed hope that this success would propel the La Liga frontrunners towards their remaining targets for the current term.

"The atmosphere in the camp is positive, and confidence is high at the moment," stated Flick, following Barcelona's tenth successive win in various tournaments.

"This match carried significant weight for us, as facing Real Madrid always adds extra intensity. Once more, we have triumphed in a decider, which is outstanding."

Flick maintains a perfect record in all eight finals he has managed, comprising two encounters last season with Madrid.

"Whenever we maintain our focus, stay composed, and perform as we did in this game, I sense a strong connection with the group, as that truly matters," he added.

The manager introduced defender Ronald Araujo towards the closing moments, shortly after the Uruguayan's absence for mental health reasons spanning about a month.

"Playing in this fixture and securing the trophy holds great value for him," Flick noted.

"I am delighted to see him return, and pleased that things appear to be improving. We shall continue to back him fully."
