David Beckham calls knighthood his greatest achievement in life

Ex England skipper David Beckham was given his knighthood by King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, describing the event as his proudest moment ever.

The 50 year old footballer, who earned 115 caps for England and starred for top clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, earned the honour for his contributions to sport and charitable causes.

For a lad from east London to stand at Windsor Castle and receive this recognition from His Majesty the King, the worlds most esteemed institution, feels like quite an occasion, Beckham remarked.

This tops everything as my proudest moment, he shared with the PA news agency.

Famed for his sharp style, Beckham donned a grey suit crafted by his wife Victoria, the former pop star now designing fashion.

She joined him at the Windsor event, west of London, with his parents Ted and Sandra by their side.

Since the announcement in June, Beckham has gone by Sir David, while Victoria, once of the Spice Girls, is now Lady Beckham.

When asked if he chatted with Charles at the ceremony, Beckham noted that the King seemed taken with his suit.

He is arguably the best dressed gentleman I know, so he has influenced many of my outfits over time, and this one especially.

I studied vintage photos of him in his younger days wearing morning suits, thought that is perfect, passed the idea to my wife, and she brought it to life, Beckham explained.

He stressed how meaningful the honour felt, given his lifelong admiration for the royal family.

Though fortunate in my football career with all the wins and successes, getting knighted surpasses any dream I ever had, he stated.

The knighthood marks the peak of Beckhams relentless work to go beyond the pitch, establishing himself as a worldwide figure blending athletics, style, and commerce.

Reports suggest he nearly received it after aiding Londons successful 2012 Olympics bid.

However UK officials flagged his application over links to a supposed tax evasion plan, but he was later exonerated.
