Chelsea winger Sterling's house burgled
Raheem Sterling, the Chelsea winger, along with his family, was inside their residence when intruders forced their way in during the previous weekend.
The 30 year old England international was together with his partner Paige Milian and their kids at approximately 1730 GMT on Saturday evening, as the thieves gained access to the upscale home located in Berkshire.
The intruders got interrupted, and Sterling is said to have challenged them directly, prompting the burglars to escape without taking any items.
Sterling's spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that Raheem Sterling suffered a residential burglary this past weekend.
They added that he was at the property with his children during the incident.
Although it represents a severe breach of security and personal space, fortunately Sterling and his family members are all unharmed.
The spokesperson requested that people honour the privacy needs of Raheem Sterling and his family amid this difficult period.
In December 2022, burglars had previously targeted Sterling's house in Surrey, which required the ex Manchester City player to return prematurely from the World Cup in Qatar.
As a result of that incident, Sterling was absent for England's 3-0 victory against Senegal in the competition.
During that earlier theft, items including jewellery and timepieces valued at £300,000 ($393,000) were taken.
Back in 2018, while residing in Cheshire, Sterling's property faced another attempted robbery, but the perpetrators left the scene after the security alarm triggered.
This current season, Sterling has not featured for Chelsea, having been sidelined by manager Enzo Maresca.
He endured an underwhelming loan period at Arsenal last year and is currently working out separately from Chelsea's main squad, following unsuccessful efforts to depart from Stamford Bridge.
