Bayern Munich Surge Ahead in Bundesliga After Seven Matches with Kane Dominating

Only seven fixtures into the Bundesliga campaign, Bayern Munich powered by Harry Kane are already in danger of distancing themselves from the competition.

Before their Saturday journey to longstanding opponents Borussia Moenchengladbach, Bayern hold a five-point advantage over RB Leipzig in second position.

The current league title holders have secured 12 victories out of 12 matches across all tournaments. They remain the sole unbeaten side among Europes leading five leagues.

At the heart of Bayerns explosive start stands England skipper Kane.

The 32 year old has netted 20 times across those 12 triumphs for Bayern. In the Bundesliga alone, he has 12 strikes and three assists from seven outings.

Yet Kanes influence this term extends well beyond mere goal scoring.

His comprehensive involvement shone brightest during last Saturdays 2-1 victory at home against Borussia Dortmund.

Positioned as the number 10 supporting forward Nicolas Jackson, Kane was omnipresent, retreating to aid defence and delivering precise passes from deeper areas to Bayerns swift wingers Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.

However, this extra playmaking responsibility did not diminish Kanes sharpness in the penalty area.

During the match on Saturday, Kane delivered a classic strikers header to give Bayern the lead, rising to connect with a corner after 21 minutes.

Despite rumours of a possible return to England, Kane suggested he intends to remain in Germany for the foreseeable future, especially following manager Vincent Kompanys contract extension to 2029 announced this week.

"Discussions will take place," Kane remarked post Bayerns 4-0 Champions League win over Club Brugge on Wednesday.

"Not immediately next month, perhaps early in the new year. Things are going splendidly here. I am feeling excellent.

"Kompany plays a vital role in the team and is a major reason for my enjoyment at the club. The contract news is fantastic."

For Bayerns competitors, the outlook is concerning as the team appears poised to improve further.

On Thursday, Jamal Musiala participated in training for the first occasion since suffering an ankle fracture at the Club World Cup back in July.

Originally projected to recover by 2026, director of sport Max Eberl indicated Musiala might feature before the holiday season.

The 22 year old playmaker shared with the media: "Returning to the field was wonderful. It felt superb. My foot responded well."

Bayerns remarkable run eliminates any pressure to hasten Musialas comeback. The same applies to Alphonso Davies, recovering from an ACL injury.

"Progress is always gradual, avoiding any haste," Musiala noted.

"Upon my return, I aim to operate at full capacity and high standard. That is why we proceed cautiously."

On matchday eight elsewhere, runners up RB Leipzig face mid table Augsburg, whereas Dortmund host the strong Cologne side.

Player to note: Fabio Silva of Borussia Dortmund

Familiar to Premier League supporters from an underwhelming period at Wolves, Dortmund forward Fabio Silva is subtly revealing the potential that once marked him as a prospect.

The 23 year old shone as a substitute versus Bayern Munich last Saturday and notched his debut Dortmund goal in Tuesdays 4-2 Champions League success away at Copenhagen.

With leading striker Serhou Guirassy sidelined by a thigh issue, Silva may earn his initial start for Dortmund on Saturday hosting Cologne.

Manager Niko Kovac hinted at this on Tuesday, stating to journalists: "Fabio is gaining more involvement. I am endeavouring to provide him increasing opportunities as they are warranted."

0 Borussia Moenchengladbach, languishing at the foot of the table, have yet to secure a victory this season.

16 Following an opening 6-0 loss to Bayern, RB Leipzig have gathered 16 of a possible 18 points to rise to second place.
