Over IJsland - Besta deild karla

Geschiedenis, formaat, organisatie, media-aandacht

De Úrvalsdeild Karla is de hoogste professionele voetbalcompetitie in IJsland. De competitie werd opgericht in 1912 en valt onder het bestuur van de IJslandse Voetbalbond (KSI). De competitie bestaat uit 12 teams en werkt met een systeem van degradatie en promotie met de 1. Deild Karla, de IJslandse Eerste Divisie.
