Over Estland - Meistriliiga
Geschiedenis, formaat, organisatie, media-aandacht
De Meistriliiga is de hoogste voetbalcompetitie in Estland. Het kampioenschap, opgericht in 1992, staat deelname van amateurclubs toe, wat het tot een semiprofessioneel toernooi maakt. De competitie vindt jaarlijks plaats maar volgt geen herfst-lenterooster. In plaats daarvan loopt het van maart tot november vanwege de koude Estse winters.
