Spain's Dani Olmo Ruled Out of World Cup Qualifiers Amid Injury Concerns

Dani Olmo, a forward for Spain, will miss the European titleholders' forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Georgia and Bulgaria, according to an announcement from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Friday.

On Friday, the Barcelona attacker took part in training in an attempt to gain medical clearance for Saturday's fixture against Georgia. However, subsequent examinations revealed a muscular issue in his left leg.

The RFEF confirmed that Olmo will head back to Barcelona as the remainder of Luis de la Fuente's team moves to Elche to pursue their qualification objectives.

Securing consecutive victories during this international period could see Spain qualify for next year's tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, provided other outcomes in Group E align favourably.

La Roja are anticipated to be strong candidates for a second World Cup triumph, yet De la Fuente insists his squad must concentrate on the immediate tasks.

"I have no concerns at this stage. Our priority is to secure qualification. Only afterwards will we consider the possibility of lifting the World Cup," he remarked.

"It is essential to remove the drama from losses and results. Achieving championship status is exceptionally challenging," he added.

Spain currently top their qualification group, holding a three-point advantage over Georgia and Turkey. This follows their emphatic 6-0 and 3-0 away victories against Turkey and Bulgaria in the previous round of fixtures.
