Kane 'welcome' to make Spurs return: Frank

Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank has stated that England skipper Harry Kane would be more than welcome to come back to the north London side should he depart from Bayern Munich in the future.

On Monday, the German outlet Bild claimed that Kane possesses a release clause worth £56.7 million ($76 million), which might become active at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Reports also suggest that Tottenham hold a buy-back provision for the forward from Bayern, fuelling rumours of a possible heartfelt comeback to north London.

Kane holds the record as Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer, netting 280 times across all tournaments over 14 seasons with the team after rising through their youth system.

He moved to Bayern in 2023 and has since scored 98 goals in 103 appearances for the Bundesliga title holders.

When questioned about potentially bringing Kane on board, Tottenham's manager Frank remarked: "I was unaware of any such clause.

"He is an exceptional talent who excelled at Spurs and continues to shine at Bayern. A top class performer.

"Plenty of Tottenham supporters, myself included, would love to have Kane return.

"That said, I reckon he is unlikely to make that move anytime soon, to be candid. He will most likely remain at Bayern and keep up his strong form."

Frank has yet to manage Kane, having stepped into the Tottenham role only this summer after switching from Brentford to succeed Ange Postecoglou.

Nevertheless, the Danish coach is a known fan of the 32 year old, who also leads England in goals with 74.

"He claimed the top scorer title last season, secured the league honour, and remains outstanding currently. I have no idea what is on his mind," Frank commented prior to Wednesday's League Cup third round clash with Doncaster.

"As for me, I enjoy travelling and discovering new places. Kane spent a long time here, so perhaps he should savour his stint at Bayern a touch longer?

"Regardless, he is welcome. If he chooses to sign with us, he would be extremely welcome!"
