Jurgen Klopp rejects rumours of Real Madrid interest yet hints at possible future in coaching
The 58 year old, now acting as Red Bulls head of global soccer, departed Liverpool at the close of the 2023-24 campaign after nine years which yielded key successes like the Champions League and Premier League crowns.
Real Madrid selected ex right back Alvaro Arbeloa, formerly in charge of their reserve side, as head coach in January after Xabi Alonsos removal. Alonso got the boot following seven months on the job, during a slump in form and whispers of tension with key squad members.
"If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now," Klopp shared with journalists during the Magenta TV World Cup squad event on Monday.
"But thats all rubbish. They havent contacted us even once, not once. My agent handles that, ask him yourself. They havent reached out to him at all.
"At present, Im not dwelling on it. Thankfully, no need to.
"Considering my years, Im pretty far along personally, yet as a manager, Im not entirely done. Havent hit retirement yet. Who can predict the next few years? Nothing is set in stone."
Klopp, with earlier roles at Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, has stated he would avoid managing any other club in England except Liverpool.
