Ernesto Valverde set to depart as Athletic Club manager after ongoing season
Valverdes third tenure leading Athletic Club is now set to conclude. The manager originating from Cáceres plans to leave the San Mamés dugout once the final of the 10 outstanding fixtures in the 2025/26 LaLiga campaign wraps up.
The 62-year-old stands as the individual who has guided the Lions on more occasions than any other and stands poised to attain 500 matches at the helm of the Bilbao outfit prior to the terms close, holding 494 at present.
"Next season I wont be Athletics coach. Its a decision Ive considered over an extended period, deliberated with the Club, and I chose to convey it to you", Valverde stated plainly in his announcement.
"Meanwhile, I wish to emphasise that 10 crucial league encounters remain, commencing this Sunday versus Betis.
