Dominant PSV secure easy victory against Go Ahead Eagles

PSV kicked off the match away in Deventer featuring Noah Fernandez in the midfield role rather than Joey Veerman, since manager Peter Bosz aims to give opportunities to young talents now that the title is secured.

The champions of PSV were refused a spot kick early in the game but still went ahead within the first 20 minutes through Ivan Perisic, who expertly nodded the ball into the distant corner from deep in the penalty area.

The Eagles levelled the score soon after, with Jakob Breum fouled inside the area by Sildillia, allowing Mathis Suray to slot home the penalty after 25 minutes.

As it seemed the teams would enter the interval tied, Ricardo Pepi came forward to regain PSV's advantage right before the break.

PSV controlled the second period, as Guus Til and the sharp Esmir Bajraktarevic repeatedly challenged Jari De Busser, yet they maintained their slim advantage for the moment.

Skipper Perisic made his mark again, delivering PSV their initial two-goal margin by catching De Busser off guard with a strike to the near post.

An error by Dean James presented Paul Wanner the chance to make it 4-1, securing another convincing Eredivisie triumph for PSV.

PSV widened their commanding position at the top of the Eredivisie to 19 points and will wrap up their campaign at home versus third-placed FC Twente on Sunday, May 17th.
