Barcelona's Putellas hailed as Women's Champions League standout performer

Featuring in her sixth consecutive final for the Catalan outfit, the 32 year old proved pivotal for Barcelona as they netted four second half goals to overcome Lyon, the competition's record holders with eight trophies.

"With 14 goal contributions, the midfielder led all players, finding the net seven times while creating seven more during Barcelona's triumphant run, crowned by a 4 0 victory against Lyon in the decisive match," stated the technical panel in their assessment.

Putellas earned her place among five Barcelona players selected for the Season's Best XI, with Lyon's 18 year old midfielder Lily Yohannes recognised as the season's breakthrough talent following displays that propelled Lyon to their twelfth Champions League final appearance.
