Arsenal's Dowman becomes youngest-ever Champions League player

Arsenals young midfielder Max Dowman set a new record as the youngest ever player in the Champions League by entering the game as a substitute in the 73rd minute against Slavia Prague on Tuesday.

Aged 15 years and 309 days Dowman surpassed the mark previously held by German forward Youssoufa Moukoko who featured for Borussia Dortmund versus Zenit St Petersburg at 16 years and 18 days back in 2020.

Moukoko now features for FC Copenhagen who are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur later that Tuesday.

Dowman first appeared in the Premier League at 15 years and 234 days old in the Gunners 5-0 victory against Leeds on August 23.

He stands as the second youngest Premier League debutant behind Arsenal colleague Ethan Nwaneri who was 53 days younger during his 2022 bow.

Nonetheless Dowman earned the title of youngest ever starter for Arsenal in their 2-0 success over Brighton in the League Cup fourth round just last week.
