Spurs extend season ticket deadline as relegation fears grow
Tottenham Hotspur have pushed back the renewal deadline for season tickets amid mounting worries about dropping out of the Premier League.
The side languishes just one point outside the drop zone, having failed to win any of their previous 11 league outings, with manager Igor Tudor coming in for fierce criticism after only four games in the role.
Through a communication to supporters, the north London team revealed that the window for season ticket renewals has been prolonged to June 7, coming after the season wraps up.
The outfit noted it understands the "seriousness of the current league position" and hopes to offer fans "full clarity on next season before renewing".
"Everyone at the club remains absolutely steadfast in our collective commitment to improve our Premier League position and finish the current season as strongly as possible," the message continued.
Ex-England defender turned pundit Gary Neville has labelled Tudor's short spell as a "car crash" requiring an immediate stop.
The Croatian handler's footing slipped badly following Tuesday's 5-2 setback to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16 opening fixture.
Tudor chose backup stopper Antonin Kinsky, yet yanked him after 17 minutes owing to catastrophic blunders.
During an appearance on The Overlap's Stick to Football podcast, Neville deemed the approach to Kinsky "brutal".
"I thought the whole thing of the last few weeks and then that, the whole thing is just a car crash, a shambles," he commented.
Tudor took over last month in the wake of Thomas Frank's dismissal, yet Neville insists Spurs should move fast again given the four losses accrued under his guidance.
"If you're going to make another change, that for me needs to be today or tomorrow, because you don't wait," he suggested.
Tottenham sit 16th in the Premier League standings, one point better off than Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.
A tough away assignment at Liverpool awaits this weekend, prior to a key encounter with Forest in the week after.
