Shakhtar Donetsk and AEK Larnaca fined by UEFA over discriminatory behaviour by fans

The Cypriot side AEK Larnaca has received a fine of 50,000 euros (equivalent to $58,680) along with a partial shutdown of their stadium for the upcoming UEFA club competition home match, due to chants from supporters in the round-of-sixteen clash against Palace back in March.

Shakhtar from Ukraine got a 30,000-euro penalty, while their stadium partial closure remains on hold for a two-year probationary term, following an "illicit banner" shown in the first leg of the semi-final in April, with the home game held in Krakow, Poland.

Additionally, Shakhtar faced a 4,000-euro fine related to the use of fireworks.

Crystal Palace is set to face Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final scheduled for 27 May in Leipzig.
