Sergio Ramos Nearing Purchase of Substantial Ownership in Hometown Side Sevilla

According to Spanish publication El Pais, the agreement valued at approximately 400 million euros includes 80% of the teams overall shares, priced at about 3,500 euros apiece.

This purchase will need clearance from LaLiga along with the Spanish National Sports Council prior to finalisation.

Sevilla has maintained a constant presence in LaLiga from the 2001/02 season onwards, yet the Andalusian outfit is now struggling against demotion this term following an underwhelming year.

The side, Europa League champions in 2022/23, occupies 13th place in the table yet remains merely three points clear of the bottom three with three fixtures to play. They placed 17th the previous campaign, one point from the relegation spots.

Ramos, a World Cup winner for Spain with two European Championship triumphs, kicked off his youth days at Sevilla before transferring to Real Madrid in 2005 where he aided in securing 22 key accolades.

The 40 year old rejoined Sevilla in 2023 for a single season and recently turned out for Monterrey in Mexico.
