Semenyo among eight nominees for Premier League Player of the Season
Antoine Semenyo is shortlisted for the 2025/26 EA Sports Premier League Player of the Season honour.
The player from Ghana features in a group of eight candidates for this esteemed accolade, including his Manchester City colleague Erling Haaland, plus Arsenal's David Raya, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice, Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, and Igor Thiago of Brentford.
Supporters can vote up to 12:00 BST on Monday, May 18th, as fan choices will merge with ratings from a group of football specialists to select the victor, revealed next week on May 23rd.
Semenyo's journey through the 2025/26 term stands out as rare in Premier League history.
He started with AFC Bournemouth, quickly proving himself a major threat among top division strikers, until Manchester City made their move in January.
At his fresh team, he quickly impressed, netting three times and assisting once in five Premier League outings during February, which secured his inaugural EA Sports Player of the Month recognition.
For the entire campaign so far, Semenyo has featured in 35 Premier League matches, with 16 goals and four assists recorded.
Among the candidates, just Erling Haaland on 26 strikes and Brentford's Igor Thiago have outscored him for goals.
Such statistics mark a breakthrough year for the 26-year-old from Ghana, showcasing his sharp finishing alongside adaptability, boldness, and physical prowess suited to Pep Guardiola's rigorous setup.
