Saudi Hosts Land All-Arab Group in Draw as Qatar Meet Japan for 2027 Asian Cup

The group draw was originally planned for April 11 in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. However, it was delayed due to tensions in the Middle East, allowing complete involvement from all teams, national federations, and sponsors.

Saudi Arabia, the hosts, join Kuwait, Oman, and Palestine in Group A. Group B features Uzbekistan, Bahrain, North Korea, and Jordan, with the latter two securing spots in next months World Cup.

Qatar find themselves grouped with Japan in Group F, echoing the 2019 final where they triumphed, then successfully defended their crown in the 2023 tournament.

This will mark Saudis debut as hosts for the event, scheduled from January 7 through February 5, 2027, featuring 24 competing nations.
