PSG Gears Up for Arsenal Showdown in Final After Toughest Fixture of Campaign Versus Bayern
PSG arranged a confrontation with the Premier League frontrunners thanks to a 1-1 stalemate in the return fixture at Bayern, confirming a 6-5 overall triumph.
The Georgian player described overcoming the German powerhouses as the greatest challenge encountered this season to date.
"Delighted to have made it to the final. We realise facing Arsenal will prove challenging. Bayern rank among the top sides currently, it proved immensely tough, the most demanding of the season," Kvaratskhelia shared with Canal Plus.
"We demonstrated our capability to compete against such opponents."
Having netted twice during the opening encounter, Ousmane Dembele struck early, just three minutes in at Munich, by slotting home a precise cutback from Kvaratskhelia.
Following the swift opener, PSG kept posing threats, yet with a two-goal advantage across the legs, they opted to defend and manage the game.
Harry Kanes late effort in added time, marking his 55th goal this term, arrived too late for the home side, allowing PSG to progress to the Budapest centrepiece on May 30th.
PSG manager Luis Enrique commended his teams resilience versus Bayern, who pushed hard to revive their chances but failed to penetrate the defence.
"The resolve displayed against a side like Bayern carries immense value. Thrilled to qualify for a consecutive Champions League final," Luis Enrique stated to the media.
"It proved highly demanding. Extremely intense. They operate at elite level. The squads resemble each other, both favouring high pressing. We feel immense joy."
