PSG and Luis Enrique Inspired by Positive Munich Recollections Before Bayern Rematch

PSG secured a thrilling 5-4 victory in the opening match at home, carrying their narrow lead to Bayern's Allianz Arena, the venue where the French side claimed their eagerly anticipated maiden Champions League title with a 5-0 triumph against Inter Milan just last May.

Luis Enrique previously guided Barcelona to success in the tournament ten years ago, defeating Bayern during the semi-finals.

"Naturally, we cherish wonderful recollections from this place," Luis Enrique remarked to journalists on Tuesday.

"Returning to Munich is invariably a delight since it revives the experiences from last season.

"Looking back further to my Barcelona managing days, the year we lifted the Champions League, we faced Bayern here in the semi-final return fixture and proceeded to the final victory. That provides extra drive for me."

Considering the chaotic first encounter, during which PSG trailed initially, surged to a 5-2 advantage, only for Bayern to narrow it to a single goal difference, forecasting the Munich result proves challenging, yet Luis Enrique anticipates a similar intensity.

"We coaches often repeat that the initial game differs from the return," he noted.

"Usually due to the scoreline, atmosphere, or team disparities. However, here I foresee no deviation from the opening clash.

"Both sides refuse to concede superiority to the opponent, and that dynamic will shape this encounter."

Even with a one-goal edge heading into the return, PSG shows no signs of approaching the Munich pitch focused solely on preservation.

"Our collective aim mirrors that of any away fixture," Luis Enrique stated.

"We aim to prevail in every contest with this approach, not tailoring play to a specific outcome, as victory tomorrow is the sole objective.

"We are prepared, aware Bayern might rally and that we can net goals too, and we definitely are not arriving to merely protect our lead."
