Michael Carrick on the verge of securing long-term deal at Manchester United

Carrick has impressed greatly in the managerial role since his return to the club. He has achieved ten victories in fifteen games and has boosted the players' confidence and faith in his leadership.

Bryan Mbeumo has openly called for Manchester United to offer Carrick a full-time position following their qualification for the Champions League. Players such as Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes have expressed similar support.

The 44-year-olds hard work is about to be recognised with a new contract. The Athletic reports that United are proposing a two-year agreement with the possibility to extend for an additional year.

Discussions have begun after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe approved the move. This came after an executive committee meeting this week. There, chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox advised appointing him permanently.

Although talks are ongoing, the club believes they will finalise everything before Manchester Uniteds last home match of the season against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

This would allow Carrick to conclude his time at Old Trafford with certainty and provide supporters with assurance about the leadership for the upcoming season.
