Livramento out of World Cup with injury, Chalobah called up by England

Newcastle's Livramento suffered an injury in the weeks before the tournament, and has now picked up a calf issue which could keep him sidelined for up to six weeks.

Chalobah, who previously worked with England manager Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, has been brought in to replace the 23 year old, having initially been named on the standby list.

He will not join the squad until after the match against Croatia.

FIFA regulations allow an injured or ill player to be replaced in a squad no later than 24 hours before their opening match.

This is a setback for England, as the versatile Livramento can cover both right back and left back.

He played the second half of England's 1 0 warm up win over New Zealand, but was an unused substitute in their final friendly against Costa Rica.

Chalobah has one England cap and made his debut in a 3 1 defeat to Senegal in June last year.
