Lazio bid farewell to Maurizio Sarri for a second time
The 67-year-old veteran concluded his second spell with the capital club after one season, which ended with a loss to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final and a ninth-place finish in Serie A.
His short-lived return was in stark contrast to Sarri's first three-year stint from 2021 to 2024, during which he guided the team to a runners-up spot in the league in 2023 before departing for family reasons.
Italian media reports suggest that Sarri will take charge of Atalanta soon, while former Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso is poised to take over at Lazio.
This change comes just days after AC Milan dismissed manager Massimiliano Allegri, which happened the day after the Serie A season concluded.
